Katie Piel brings a strong commitment to compassionate, accessible care to Four Corners Cancer Center. Her interest in medicine began with a desire to help others and a lifelong interest in science and health. Her connection to oncology became especially personal through her mother’s experience as a breast cancer survivor, which inspired Katie’s interest in cancer treatment and research.

Katie earned her Master of Science in Nursing through the Family Nurse Practitioner program at Spring Arbor University in Spring Arbor, Michigan. She completed her clinical training in Colorado, Kansas, and Houston. Her family moved to the Four Corners region from the Denver area in 2014, drawn to the smaller community, natural beauty, and opportunities to enjoy the outdoors.

At Four Corners Cancer Center, Katie especially values the opportunity to care for patients from rural and diverse communities. Having grown up in a rural community in Kansas, she understands firsthand how difficult access to specialized healthcare can be. She believes every patient deserves quality, compassionate care regardless of where they live.

Katie also recognizes that a cancer diagnosis can feel isolating for both patients and their families. She believes community oncology should provide more than medical treatment — it should offer support, familiarity, and resources that help patients feel cared for physically and emotionally throughout their journey.

Outside of work, Katie enjoys reading, hiking, camping, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. She is a mother of two young adults and enjoys exploring everything the Four Corners region has to offer.

“I believe everyone should have access to quality, compassionate healthcare.”
